In this article we will show you the basic features of Tidio Live chat plugin.
1. Log in with your account
The first thing you have to do in order to login to your Live chat page is to visit this page:
https://www.tidiochat.com/panel/login
Then use your credentials (email and password) to log in to your account.
2. Change your chat log in details
In case you need to change your chat dashboard login details please follow these steps:
1. Click on the gear icon at the very bottom of your dashboard.
2. Then click on the account tab.
From here you can change your email and your password for your chat tool.
3. Set your account online – offline.
Then you need to set your account online when you want your chat to be visible for your guests, and offline when you want your chat to be disappeared from your website.
To do that click on the account icon on the top right corner of your screen (see screenshot).
On the panel that will appear click on the drop-down button that says (offline if you are not online yet or the opposite if you are already online).
Choose what your status should be (online or offline).
That’s it!
Now do not forget to visit your website and Check if the chat widget appeared or disappeared depending of which status you chose.
Remember that setting your status offline will make the chat widget disappear.
4. Check your messages
In order to check any old or new messages all you have to do is to click on the messages button on the top left corner of the chat page.
In order to remove a conversation from your conversations tab you need to press the “Leave” Button on the top.
5. Use your chat as an external App
In case you want to use your chat feature from an external source (not from you computer browser) you can Download a desktop or a mobile app version of the control panel. Then you need to login there using your credentials and you are done!

6. Change your chat’s avatar (image)
In order to change the user’s image in your chat follow these steps:
- In your dashboard, click on the small avatar on the top right corner:
2. Click on the user image below. A new pop up window will appear. Click on the change image button to upload your own image.
7. Translate your chat tool
You can set different languages in the chat tool but not according to the language of the website. The chat tool uses the language of the browser of the user to display the corresponding language. So if a guest has set his browser language in EN but he is Dutch so he visits the Dutch version of your website, he is going to see the EN version of the chat tool.
You can set the different languages you want to use as follow:
1. On the left panel, click on the channels tab
2. You should see the appearance settings of the Live Chat.
3. Scroll down until you see the Multilanguage menu
4. Click on it to expand and Choose a language from the menu that will appear. Click the Add button to add it.
5. When you are done adding new languages do not forget to click on the Save button at the bottom of the page to save your settings.
6. In case you want to make custom changes to the translations provided by the chat tool you can do that by clicking on the info box at the bottom says: “If you want to translate or edit all the phrases appearing in the widget -click here”.
