This article provides you the instructions to set up a free Pinterest business account, to get access to analytics on your Pins and the ability to run ads.

If you’ve never used Pinterest before or would like to create a business account that’s separate from your personal account and uses a different email, you can create a new business account (follow step 1 below).

If you have an existing personal Pinterest account and would like to connect your personal and business accounts to easily sign in with the same email, you can either  create a linked business account or convert your personal account into a business account (follow step 2 or 3 below).

1. Create a New Business Account

Create a new business account that’s not connected to any other Pinterest accounts.

To create a new business account, the email you use to sign up must not already be in use on an existing Pinterest account. If you're an employee or an agency partner creating a business account to access your company’s or client’s ad account , we recommend using your professional email and your own name rather than the name of your business. This helps the owner of the account identify and validate the people who have access to their account.

  1. From the top-right of your screen, click Sign up
  2. Click  Create a business account
  3. Enter your Email, Create a password and enter your Age
  4. Click Create account
  5. Fill out the fields to Build your profile, then click Next
  6. Fill out the fields to Describe your business, then click Next
  7. Select if you want to run ads, then click Next
  8. Select where you'd like to start or click  the x icon  to go to your new Pinterest business account

2. Create a linked Business Account

Create a business account that’s linked to your personal account and easily switch between accounts. You’ll use the same email and password to sign into both accounts. You can link up to four business accounts to a personal Pinterest account. You must be logged into a personal account to create a linked business account.

  1. Log into your personal Pinterest account
  2. Click  the directional chevron down icon  at the top-right of the screen
  3. Click Add account
  4. Under Create a free business account, click Create
  5. Click Create a linked business account
  6. Click Create linked account
  7. Fill out the fields to Build your profile, then click Next
  8. Fill out the fields to Describe your business, then click Next
  9. Select if you want to run ads, then click Next
  10. Select from the list of options to Describe your business
  11. Select where you'd like to start or click  the cancel icon  to go to your linked Pinterest business account

3. Convert your personal account into a business account

You can convert your personal account to a business account. Business accounts are public on Pinterest, so if your personal account is set to private, it must be switched to public in order to convert to a business account. Your Pins and followers will remain the same. You can switch back to a personal account at any time.

Note: If your personal account is linked to another Pinterest account, you’ll need to unlink your account before you can convert it to a business account.

  1. Log into your personal Pinterest account
  2. Click the directional chevron down icon at the top-right corner
  3. Click Settings
  4. Click Account management at the left of the screen
  5. Find the Convert to a business account option, then click Convert account
  6. Click Convert account
  7. Fill out the fields to Build your profile, then click Next
  8. Fill out the fields to Describe your business, then click Next
  9. Select if you want to run ads, then click Next
  10. Select where you’d like to start or click the 'x' icon to go to your converted Pinterest business account
