Anchor links are used to link to a specific block/item on a page. Two main aspects are involved in creating an anchor link. Firstly, you will have to assign an ID to the section you want to specifically link to. Secondly, you will have to add the anchor link behind the button/text you want to link from.

We will use the following example:

“Restaurant 1 wants to link from their homepage, directly to the section on the About Us page, that displays their Instagram feed.”

1. Add / Assign an Anchor ID to the Component

  • Navigate to the specific section you want to create the ID for - in this case Instagram feed, expand the settings bar on the left for that specific element and scroll all the way down where you will see "Anchor ID". In case there are 2 words needed, formatting then should be "instagram-feed". Please always use lower letters.
  • Save & Publish!

2. Creating the Anchor Link

  • In this example, we want to link from a button on the homepage, to this section on the About-us page.
  • We add the link like by choosing type as URL.
  • We type the slug which follows after the main URL and add the anchor ID (e.g. /about-us#instagram)
  • You can customise all the other settings as for usual CTAs (e.g. Open in new window & button type)

  • Save your changes and remember to update the other languages in the same way (using the relevant links and word for anchor IDs)
