A Facebook Page is where customers go to discover and engage with your business. With a Facebook Page, you can manage all aspects of your business to keep customers updated, publish and promote content, connect people with your products and deliver seamless customer service experiences.

As a first step, we recommend setting up a Facebook profile for a fictional person that all of you within the company can access. This profile can later serve as the admin in your Facebook Business Manager. In the event that someone leaves your organisation, this account will still be accessible, preventing any issues with accessing your business settings.

Step 1: Create a facebook profile for a fictional person.

  • Go to facebook.com and click Create New Account.
  • Enter your name, email or mobile phone number, password, date of birth and gender.
  • Click Sign Up.
  • To finish creating your account, you need to confirm your email address or phone number.

Step 2: Create a Facebook Business Page (On Desktop)

  • Create a New Page here.
  • Add your Name & Category.
  • Add your Page’s bio and click Create.
  • (Optional) Add information, such as Contact, Location and Hours, and click Next.
  • (Optional) Add profile and cover photos, and edit the action button, and click Next.
  • Click Done.

Step 3: Create an Instagram Account

  • Download the Instagram app.
  • Once the app has been installed, tap  to open it.
  • Tap Create new account and enter your email address or mobile number, then tap Next. Note: If you sign up using email, make sure that you enter your email address correctly and choose an email address that everyone in your business (or the necessary people) can access (e.g. marketing team mail). If you log out and forget your password, you'll need to be able to access your emails to get back in to your Instagram account.
  • Enter the confirmation code sent to your email address or mobile number, then tap Next.
  • Create a password, then tap Next.
  • Enter your birthday, then tap Next. Note: Use your own birthday, even if this account is for a business, a pet or something else.

  • Create a username, then tap Next.
  • Read Instagram's terms and policies, then tap I agree, if you agree to the terms, to create your account.
  • Add a profile picture, then tap Next. If you'd like to add a profile picture later, tap Skip.
  • Once you set up your profile, you can turn it into a business account. Go to your profile and tap in the top-right corner. tap settings & privacy, then account tyep and tools and switch to professional account.

Step 4: Link the Facebook & Instagram Account
