If you wish to duplicate a pop-up or export it to another website, make sure that you only do so in the following manner. If you duplicate it in the way you would normally duplicate a page, the type of the template changes into a Page and you will not be able to use it as a pop-up.

1. Save Pop-up as Template

  • Login to your CMS and navigate to Templates > Popups > Edit with Elementor
  • Once this is opened in Elementor, move to the bottom menu on the left side and click on the arrow > Save as Template:

  • Give the template a name and press Save:
  • If you wish to export your template to another website, follow this step >> Your saved template will appear on the bottom of the list of Templates. Behind the name, you see three dots, press this > Export. Your template will now be downloaded to your computer.

2. Create New Pop-Up

  • Navigate to Wordpress (your back end) and to Templates > Popups
  • Press ‘Add New’ at the top of your screen
  • In the screen that pops up, choose ‘pop-up’ and give your pop-up a name
  • Press ‘Create Template’. You will be redirected to Elementor.

3. Insert Saved Template

  • Once in Elementor, you will see an empty field showing a few icons.
  • You now wish to insert the pop-up template you have just exported from the other website or an existing saved template in the library. To do so, open the Templates library via the grey folder-icon (second one below):

  • Now you have two options.
    • You now import the template you downloaded to your computer by following the steps in this article: Import Downloaded Template in Elementor
    • Or you choose an existing, saved template from the list:
      • Press Insert behind the template-name, to insert it in the new pop-up. You can now make adjustments and save the popup.
